Guide Dogs

It was just over 75 years ago that the UK\\\\\\\'s first guide dogs went to work, transforming the lives of their visually-impaired owners with the gift of independence. As we celebrate the past, we focus on our vision for the future: a world where all blind and partially-sighted people have the same opportunities, rights and responsibilities as everyone else. We need your support to ensure that, in this world, we have the resources to provide a guide dog to everyone who needs one. Visually-impaired people will receive the support they require to lead an active, fulfilling life. Improved knowledge of eye diseases, and increasing awareness of eye care, will reduce the number of people being diagnosed blind. Guide Dogs receives no statutory funding, and rely entirely on legacies and donations to carry out our vital work.
