600 million people in our world are disabled. 80% live in developing countries and one third are children. Most of this disability is needless. Working in the UK and in impoverished communities of Africa and Asia, IMPACT is providing medical treatment to reverse conditions and straightforward action to prevent people becoming disabled. This also tackles poverty which so often goes hand in hand with disability. �30 is the average cost of restoring sight, movement or hearing to another person overseas �87 will train and equip a traditional birth attendant or healthworker �150 would screen 500 children for early signs of disabling conditions �500 + would purchase essential diagnostic or surgical instruments.
