Charity Information
Royal National Institute for Deaf People (RNID)
RNID is the largest charity representing the 9 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. We aim to achieve a radically better quality of life for deaf and hard of hearing people - your support really does make a difference. These are just some of the ways that your donation can help our service users: £5 could help us staff our RNID Information Line, so that people who feel deeply distressed and isolated by their deafness or tinnitus can get immediate information and support. £10 could provide leisure opportunities for our Care service users, so they can go out for a meal, see a film or do another activity that they enjoy. £25 could help our Employment Advisors to support a deaf person and help them find a training course or fill in an application form for a job. £50 could help us to widen the availability of new technology such as video interpreting in surgeries, so that deaf and hard of hearing people can communicate more effectively with GP's and nurses. £100 could help contribute towards us providing specialist care for deaf and hard of hearing people with mental health problems. £250 could maintain a sensory garden, for our deafblind service users. It is important to provide and exciting and stimulating areas, where our deafblind users are able to experience their senses through touch and smell.
