The Rainforest Foundation

The Rainforest Foundation supports traditional peoples of the world’s tropical forests to protect their environment and fulfil their rights to life, land and livelihoods. The Rainforest Foundation has proved that the strongest and most sustainable means of conserving rainforests lies with the local communities living in and around the forest. So far, the Rainforest Foundation has helped local people protect more than 100,000 square kilometres of rainforest – an area greater than Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland combined. Our current projects are working to protect a further 1 million square kilometres of rainforest in the Congo Basin and Amazon.
